DESCRIPTION:It’s time for all of the candidates running in the Fall election to circulate papers to get on the ballot.  (Yes\, you may have thought that folks like Charly Ray\, Fred Clark\, Ginger Murray\, Chris Armstrong\, and Angela Stroud were already running\, but April 15 is the first day they are allowed to circulate papers to get signatures to be official\, real candidates.)\nWe’re helping the candidates get off and running by hosting a Nomination Paper Kick-off at our office\, 207 2nd Avenue West\, Ashland\, on Thursday\, April 16\, from 6:00 p.m.- 8:00 p.m.\nWe’ll have refreshments.\nCome sign nominating papers for your favorite candidates\, and pick up papers to circulate for them.  It’s easy to get signatures on nominating papers- just ask your friends and family or\, if you like\, go door-to-door.  Once you’ve circulated papers you can mail them back to the candidates’ addresses\, or bring them to our May meeting. Let’s help our candidates get big numbers of signatures!

You do not need to be a delegate to attend the convention.\nAn up to date membership to the Democratic Party of Wisconsin is required to be a delegate. \nJoin us for the 2026 Convention of the Democratic Party of the 7th Congressional District on Saturday\, April 25th. It will be hosted by the Marathon County Dems and will be held at: \nCedar Creek Hotel and Convention Center\n1100 Imperial Avenue\nRothschild\, WI 54474 \n(formerly Stoney Creek) \nThe theme is Uniting to Protect Our Freedoms.\nRegistration is $50/person and includes all convention materials\, breakfast\, lunch and beverages.\nPlease register by April 9th.  \nFood will be catered by the famous Mint Cafe. The continental breakfast will include assorted breakfast pastries\, muffins\, and fresh fruit.

DESCRIPTION:Learn more about the state convention: \nhttps://wisdems.org/2026convention/ \nFrom the Wisconsin Democratic Party’s Constitution: \nSection 7 -There shall be an annual state convention at such time and place as the state administrative \ncommittee shall determine\, upon at least ninety days written notice to the chairperson of each county. \nDelegates and alternates to such conventions shall be selected by each county on a fair and equitable basis \nof representation within quotas to be determined from time to time by the administrative committee. \nNotice of meetings to select such delegates and alternates shall be as provided in the By- laws. \nUpon receipt of the written and signed petition of at least 20% of the chairpersons of the counties in the \nstate\, the state chairperson shall call a state convention within ninety days and shall give at least sixty \ndays notice the chairpersons of each county unit. Representation at such a state convention shall be on the \nbasis used for the preceding annual state convention.
